Paradoxes-A Poem

I have recently been seeking ways to channel all of the chaotic, devastating energy swirling in the world today. Being a highly sensitive soul that feels deeply, I need centering and grounding practices that help me sort through all that I absorb. Through taking time to be creative in my own unique way, I am finding the power of my wise inner guide speaking through me, offering me the words I most need to hear so I can keep the bright light of hope, love, and compassion alive. Oh how the collective burden of fear 

is almost too much to bear 

Having eyes that see the underlying anxiety

Leaves this soul entrenched in duality

Compassion flowing for the marginalized

Witnessing them unfairly attacked and scrutinized

And yet, knowing the depth of insecurity

That is provoking those in power to rule indecently

Blame shifting is the name of the game 

To avoid addressing deep inner pain

A focus that is too far outward

When in reality, all the answers lie inward

How have we gotten to this place

Where accumulating things is the ultimate race

Love has been lost in the depths

Of wealth, pride, and selfishness

The tide is shifting, the walls are breaking

A collective fear that leads to awakening

It is through the gateway of our deepest pain

That eternal love reminds us of our real gain

When we face ourselves and the world around

With courage and a desire to become truly unbound

The light of loving mercy is sure to shine brightly

Offering a glimmer of hope in the depths of misery

Will we become collectively courageous

Choosing to open our eyes to the dangers

Of clinging to false saviors of materialism

When will our collective material exhaustion 

Cause us to wake up to the plight of humanity

Recognizing the damage we are doing to every living entity

When will we return to being conscious stewards

Of the land, others, and all of life’s treasures

I have to believe that love will be victorious

Even though the path may seem treacherous

May the difficult path that lies ahead

Offer an opportunity to remember what is most sacred

Soul to soul connections break the chains

Of hatred and discrimination

Vulnerability and curiosity are the antidotes

Which cure our deep rooted judgements

May we all come together in unity

Choosing to mitigate enmity

Highlighting one another’s goodness

Bridging the gap through togetherness

May each one of us find a way 

To see one another in our collective humanity

Recognizing the spirit that lies within

Each and every body regardless of outer skin

May essential spiritual truths emerge 

From the ashes of materialism’s purge

May we regain our collective higher consciousness

Serving our eternal friend who is filled with loving kindness

May we take this time to individually awaken

To our own burdens keeping us heavy laden

Shedding light on our inner darkness

Bathing it in divine loving mercy and sweetness

Choosing to remain consciously awake

Is a daily challenge in this current worldly state

Let me hold these paradoxes in the light of eternality

Knowing this is my greatest gift to every living entity

Let me lift up this collective anxiety felt deep within

To the lotus feet of the one who showers me with inspiration

To keep stepping forward, speaking truth in kindness

Offering rays of light and love that break through the darkness

Planting seeds of a higher eternal reality

As my greatest offering of gratitude back to divinity
